MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of Sunflower, an active adult community of 967 homes, is to be good stewards of common property and funds and to offer our residents a variety of opportunities to enrich their physical, cultural and social well being.

Board of Directors Election
​
The call for candidates for the November, 2026 Board of Directors election is now closed. There are six candidates for the four open board positions; their statements are available here. A special election edition of the Sun Cather will be published Wednesday, September 2ed. A Meet the Candidates question box will be available at the village center from September 4th to September 21th. Submit your questions for the candidates to answer during the two Meet the Candidates sessions which will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 9:00 AM, and Monday, September 28th at 6:30 PM

Voting –
Electronic ballots will be emailed to property owners with a current email address on file on September 30, 2026. If you do not receive an e-ballot by October 1, check your SPAM folder first, then contact the front desk at 520-572-9780 to update your email address. Please use the link in the ballot to vote electronically; it is fast and easy. Property owners who do not use email will be mailed a paper ballot through USPS on September 30th. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than October 28th. A ballot box will be set out by the front door in the village center on October 1st and removed on November 2ed.

​Your vote matters – Every household is entitled to one vote. In addition to selecting Board members, your ballots are used to establish a quorum at the annual meeting on November 4th at 6:00 PM. If a quorum is not achieved, the Association must repeat the election process. For that reason, every ballot submitted is important not only for electing Board Members but also for holding the Annual Meeting.

CIF Solar Project
Three Townhall presentations were made covering the installation timeline, funding, anticipated savings, and the many advantages of generating clean, reliable solar energy for the Village Center. A representative from the vendor was available to answer questions. Videos of the presentations and revised slides from the presentations providing additional information request ed by residents are posted here. This information will remain available throughout the voting process.

Here is a summery of the Project's cost and benefits (8/28/260).
Revised ballots were sent out Monday, August 24th. Voting will run from August 24th through September 18th. If you voted using a previous ballot, those ballots will not be counted and you must vote again using the new ballot to have your vote counted. Remember that it is one vote per lot -- if multiple ballots are received with the same lot number, only the first one will be counted. This vote is an important step for our community, and we encourage all residents to participate and make their voices count.

The result of the vote will be shared at the Board meeting on Wednesday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM.

Information for Sun Catcher and Communicator Submissions
Material for the Sun Catcher should be submitted to Nkaplan@associatedasset.com by the 12th of the month previous to the month of publication. Submissions should be in MS-Word format, Times New Roman 12pt font. Please limit article to 250 words or less.

Material for the Communicator should be in submitted in MS-Word to Lsak@associatedasset.com in Verdana 10pt font by 4pm on Wednesday of the week of publication. Please limit to 150 words or less.
