MISSION STATEMENT

To be a vibrant fiscally responsible 55+ Active Adult community that promotes and fosters a sense of community, offering a variety of well-maintained amenities in an ecologically stainable desert environment.

VISION STATEMENT

Achieve the Association’s vision in an appropriate manner for the benefit of all Association Members by:

​

  • Ensure sound and sustainable fiscal and operational practices

  • Uphold the governing documents through fair and impartial governance

  • Maintain and enhance community assets

  • Develop and enhance effective community communication

  • Provide a broad array of programs, lifestyle opportunities, and amenities that build and foster strong community relationships.

Sunflower Election Results

The new Board of Directors was formed at the Sunflower Annual Meeting the evening of November 5th.  Sunflower Residents cast 433 ballots.  The three winning candidates were Larry Schierer with 265 votes, Stacy Shellard with 245 votes, and Patrick Stirling with 234 votes. Thank you to all of the candidates who ran for office!

 

The Excess Income resolution passed with 350 yes votes to 77 no votes.  None of the CC&R changes had 645 votes, which was needed per Arizona law to change CC&R’s.  The final tally for each change is as follows: Sport Courts - 293 yes votes, 138 no votes, Community Improvement Fee - 235 yes votes, 196 no votes, Wall Maintenance Responsibility - 222 yes votes, 208 no votes and Arizona Law and Clarity Vote - 279 yes votes and 144 no votes.

 

The new Board held an Organizational meeting following the Annual Meeting and the new Board Officers were announced.  The President is Tim Lardy, the Vice President is Ken Ropp, the Treasurer is Patrick Stirling, and the Secretary is Stacy Shellard.  The past Board welcomes the new Board to Sunflower!

Material for the Sun Catcher should be submitted to Nkaplan@associatedasset.com by the 12th of the month previous to the month of publication.  Submissions should be in MS-Word format, Times New Roman 12pt font.  Please limit article to 250 words or less.

Material for the Communicator should be in submitted in MS-Word to Lsak@associatedasset.com in Verdana 10pt font by 4pm on Wednesday of the week of publication.  Please limit to 150 words or less.
